Dr Vladimir Tikhomirov

Senior Economist

Dr. Vladimir Tikhomirov joined Macro-Advisory in November 2021 as senior consulting economist. Prior to that Vladimir has worked as Chief Economist at BCS Global Markets (2014-2021), Otkritie Financial Corporation (2010-2014) and URALSIB Financial corporation (2001-2010).

Vladimir also has over 40 years of research experience in business and in academia. He worked as Director of the Centre for Russian and Euro-Asian Studies and Senior Lecturer at the University of Melbourne, Australia (1993-2001). Previously, Vladimir held positions of Associate Professor of School of Finance at the International University in Moscow (1991-1993), Visiting Professor at Wiwatersrand University, South Africa (1991-1992) and Director of Studies at the Africa Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1988-1991).

Vladimir holds an MA degree in International Relations from Kyiv State University and Ph.D. degree in Political Economy from the Russian Academy of Sciences. He authored five books, was editor of four books and published over 100 articles in academic journals on problems of transition and economics in Russia, USA, UK, South Africa, and Australia.
