Thomas G. Adshead

Thomas (Tom) Adshead first came to Russia over 30 years ago as a Sovietologist. He has been residing in Moscow for the past 25 years.

Prior to joining Macro-Advisory, Tom was a Portfolio Manager at Moscow-based Verno Capital, an investment advisory and hedge fund management firm. Before that, he served as a Portfolio Manager at Alfa Capital, Russia’s largest retail fund manager. Tom has also worked a head of research at Kazimir Partners and at Sito Capital, both Moscow-based.

He held analyst and research director positions at IFC Metropol, Troika Dialog, and United Financial Group. He began his banking career at CS First Boston and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Tom was born in New Zealand. He has a degree in Economics from Cambridge University and a postgraduate diploma in Russian Language from Glasgow University. Tom is a CFA Charterholder.
